Marshall BOG approves budget, 3 percent pay raise

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — The Marshall University Board of Governors approved the university’s $302 million budget on Wednesday, which includes a 3 percent salary raise for faculty and staff.

According to a university press release, the state provided the state with nearly $1.5 million for the raises, in which the school added an additional $1.5 million to reach the 3 percent mark.

The raises will go into effect in July. This is in addition to the 2 percent raise approved by the board at its February meeting, which went into effect in March. The total raise is equivalent to 5 percent.

The new fiscal year begins July 1.
