Fayette County man arrested for impersonating police officer

GLEN JEAN, W.Va. — A Fayette County man was charged for allegedly impersonating a police officer Thursday.

Paul Horne, 35 of Oak Hill.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department said they responded to a Glen Jean towing company for a call of a man displaying a badge and asking about impounded vehicles.

Employees said Paul Horne, 35 of Oak Hill, inquired about what happens to drugs that are confiscated from vehicles.

The towing company knew Horne was not a police officer and called authorities. He fled the scene before deputies arrived.

Horne was also driving a former police cruiser sold at an auction. He has already been released on bond after being arraigned by the Fayette County Magistrate’s Office.
