Andrew Kerzak, Morgantown upend Class A No. 8 Madonna

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Morgantown scored six runs in the fourth inning and went on for a 12-2 win over Class A No. 8 Madonna on Tuesday night, 12-2 in five innings.

The Mohigans (13-8) were led by shortstop Caleb Taylor and pitcher Andrew Kerzak at the plate as Taylor went 3 for 3 with four RBIs and two runs scored, including a home run and a double.

Kerzak hit a home run for Morgantown as well, going 3 for 4 at the plate with an RBI and four runs scored. Colton Matthews also had a three-hit day in the win, going 3 for 4 with two runs scored.

Kerzak also got the start on the mound, going four and one-third innings, giving up two runs on three hits and striking out five.

Gavin Dietrich, Nick Paul and Mackenzie Raymond collected a hit apiece in the loss for Madonna (11-8).
