CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia Medical Examiner’s Office announced Thursday it identified a body found in the Ohio River last weekend as an Ohio man.

Dental records were used to identify the body as Joseph Herring, 37, of Martins Ferry, Ohio. His body was found on Sunday. Herring had been missing since early January.

A statement from the state medical examiner’s office says there were no obvious signs of foul play. The cause of death remains undetermined.
