Clarksburg house deemed total loss after early morning blaze

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Authorities are investigating the cause of an early morning fire Wednesday.

An unoccupied house on East Main Street in Clarksburg caught fire just after midnight.

Authorities said they believe there were people using the abandoned home as shelter, which may have led to an accidental fire. They do not believe the blaze was intentionally set.

The house is considered to be a total loss.
