One dead in Preston county crash

PRESTON COUNTY, W.Va. — One woman is dead following an early morning accident on I-68.

A vehicle traveling westbound on I-68 hit a road sign and then two concrete pillars of a bridge overpass near mile marker 16 shortly after midnight.

The man driving the vehicle is being treated for injuries at a local hospital. The female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Preston County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
