CHARLESTON, W.Va. — U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson will be in the Capital City Monday.
Carson will join Second District Congressman Alex Mooney and Third District Congressman Evan Jenkins (R-W.Va.) for a tour of Recovery Center, a drug rehab center for women on Charleston’s West Side.
The tour begins at 11:30 a.m.
Carson serves on President Donald Trump’s interagency task force which is dedicated to addressing the opioid crisis across the country.
Recovery Point is a long-term recovery center where clients reside for about 6-12 months. No treatment is involved. Women attend classes on how to manage their credit, pay bills, resume and interviewing skills. Parenting and cooking classes are also offered to the women.
The Charleston facility opened in Nov. 2016. There is also a Recovery Point in Huntington.
