One person dead in Wood County incident

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — Wood County authorities said one person is dead and a second individual injured in a vehicle accident Tuesday evening.

According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened around 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of U.S. Route 50 and state Route 31. Deputies said witnesses describe a motorcycle failing to stop at the intersection before they were struck by the vehicle.

The motorcyclist has been identified as Ronald Dean Lee, 69, of Parkersburg. The driver of the vehicle, Andrea George, 53, of Charleston, was transported to the hospital.
