Upshur County woman indicted in 2017 death of her daughter

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — After several months of investigation the mother of a 3-year-old girl who died as a result of child abuse in October 2017 is now facing criminal charges.

Danielle Nicole Talbott has been indicted by an Upshur County Grand Jury on charges of child neglect resulting in serious bodily injury or death. Further actions by the Circuit Court are pending, according to a news release from the Upshur County Sheriff’s Department.

The Sheriff’s Department received complaint of the child abuse on Oct. 21, 2017. The 3-year-old girl was pronounced dead at Ruby Memorial Hospital on Oct. 25, 2017, as a result of injuries sustained by non-accidential blunt force trauma, the release said.
