LOST CREEK, W.Va. — With the high school state track meet officially underway Friday and Saturday from Charleston, South Harrison senior standout Freddy Canary joined the MetroNews ‘Statewide Sportsline’ for a preview.
Canary is coming off of four individual state championships from 2017 in the 100, 200, 400 and long jump.
“I’m feeling very confident,” Canary said. “For the 400, I’d really like to drop a 48, I know it’s possible. In the 200, I just want to get in the 21s. But really the main goal right now is to just come out on top.”
Canary is signed to play football at West Virginia State this coming year.
