One teen dead, one charged in Boone County vehicle crash

BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. — An alleged DUI wreck in Boone County claimed the life of a Scott High School student early Sunday morning, according to Boone County sheriff’s deputies.

Investigators said the victim, 17, was a passenger in a vehicle that crashed at the former Hobet Mining property located near Danville.

The victim’s name was not immediately released on Sunday.

Behind bars at the Southwestern Regional Jail on $100,000 bond was the alleged driver of the vehicle, Dylan Levi Price, 19, of Julian.

He was charged with driving under the influence causing death after being arrested at the crash scene.

In a Sunday statement, Boone deputies reported Price was arrested in 2017 for DUI in Logan County. That case was still pending at the time of the Sunday crash.
