Two people accused of molesting infant

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Two individuals face charges after allegedly molesting an infant and recording the act.

Richard Smith II, 39, of Mason, and Roseanna Thompson, 45, of Charleston, had custody of the female child at their home in South Charleston in 2015 when the alleged act happened.

According to investigators, Smith II is Thompson’s ex-girlfriend and Thompson is the alleged victim’s grandmother.

West Virginia State Police troopers searched the suspect’s home in Clifton and found nine discs in the home, five of which had videos showing the acts being committed. Authorities also found three nude photographs of who they believe is the same little girl.

Authorities arrested Smith II on Tuesday on unrelated warrants. Thompson was arrested and arraigned Wednesday.
