Lunsford Conaway back in court Friday

WESTON, W.Va. — A former Lewis County convicted in April in the 2011 death of her three-year-old daughter is scheduled to be back in court Friday for post-trial motions.

Lena Lunsford Conaway’s attorney, Tom Dyer, has made a motion for acquittal.

Dyer suggests that the state did not share evidence during the trial that could potentially clear Lunsford of wrongdoing. He also said the state didn’t prove Aaliyah Lunsford was murdered. There was no cause of death given to the jury and the girl’s body has never been found.

Lunsford Conaway is scheduled to be sentenced June 28 by Chief Judge Jake Reger in Lewis County Circuit Court.
