Man in custody in Ohio charged in WV murder

CINCINNATI, Oh — Police have issued an arrest warrant for a Dunbar man in connection with the May murder of a Charleston woman.

A warrant was issued Wednesday evening for the arrest of Daimeyon Smith, 35, in the shooting death of Tanisha Hariston, 29. Her body was found May 15 near the townhouses at Roxalana Hills.

Smith is currently in custody in Cincinnati after he allegedly robbed a bank in Woodlawn, Ohio, Wednesday where he led police on a chase. Authorities said he wrecked his car, ran into a bar and when attempting to shoot police a bar patron was injured.

Smith is in custody at the Hamilton County Justice Center.
