Arrest made after Morgantown pursuit

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A police chase in Morgantown early Thursday morning has led to a suspect being charged with multiple drug offenses including distribution of cocaine and heroin.

Tyrone Jackson, 34, of Clarksburg, was taken into custody Thursday morning after a chase that culminated when Jackson crashed into the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Officers attempted to pull over Jackson when they observed a traffic violation but Jackson fled, traveling south on South High Street. He ended up crashing through a guardrail at the intersection of South High Street and Dorsey Avenue and landed in Oak Grove Cemetery, damaging a headstone.

Jackson tried to make a run for it, but was quickly apprehended.

Jackson has been charged with fleeing with reckless indifference to the safety of others, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute heroin, and possession with intent to distribute hydrocodone.
