Woman killed in Huntington shooting

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — A woman was shot and killed at a housing complex in Huntington Wednesday afternoon, the second murder investigation to be launched in the city this week.

The woman was at Marcum Terrace when the shots rang out. She died at the scene. A maintenance worker at the complex was struck by gunfire while he was cutting grass. He was hospitalized.

Investigators said they were looking for a suspect.

Huntington police are continuing their investigation into double shooting death from Tuesday.

The bodies of Melvin Courts Jr., 26, of Huntington, and Kelli Adkins, 27, of Wayne, were found shot to death in an apartment on Huntington Avenue.
