Unanswered questions in Fayette County shooting investigation

MEADOW BRIDGE, W.Va. — A Wednesday shooting in Fayette County remains under investigation.

Fayette County Sheriff Mike Fridley said a woman was shot twice in the Meadow Bridge area. After the call was dispatched, it took deputies, West Virginia State Police and local fire personnel a while to find her.

The victim was eventually located with two gunshot wounds. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Several unanswered questions are making it difficult to solve the case.

“The victim is not being fully cooperative at this point, making it extremely difficult to identify a suspect or even a location where the shooting took place,” said Sheriff Fridley. “Detectives are working the incident in an attempt to figure out exactly what happened.”

Anyone with information on the crime is urged to contact the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department at 304-574-3590.
