Morgantown man facing felony charge after hitting cyclist

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A Monongalia County man is facing a felony charge after allegedly hitting a woman riding her bike with his car intentionally, police said.

Christopher Sean Howard of Morgantown is facing a malicious wounding charge after police said he hit a 39-year-old woman with his vehicle around 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 30.

The accident occurred in the area of Chestnut Ridge Road near Van Voorhis Road. Police claim Howard and the cyclist had an argument before the incident.

The victim is being treated at Ruby Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries, according to Morgantown Police.

Howard was taken into custody around 7 p.m. Saturday night.
