GRAFTON, W.Va. — A Maryland man on the run for more than five years following sexual assault allegations in Taylor County is in police custody.
Xavier Ramos, 34, of Oxon Hill, Maryland, was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals around 10 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Ramos is accused of multiple crimes, charged with kidnapping and sexual assault of a minor in connection to a June 2013 incident in a Grafton hotel room.
Ramos and another man, Alex Sander Orellana-Cruz, were accused of holding two teenagers against their will in a hotel room and sexually assaulting the two victims, aged 14 and 16 years old.
Cruz was arrested in 2013 in Baltimore, Maryland.
Ramos was taken into custody following an investigation that led authorities to Jacksonville, Florida, where Ramos was allegedly working a construction job.
He will face extradition proceedings before returning to West Virginia.
