FRISCO, TX — Huntington rising senior offensive lineman Darnell Wright was named as one of the Final Five offensive lineman at Nike’s The Opening Finals national camp this week in Texas.
Wright and Spring Valley senior Doug Nester, an Ohio State commit, were the two prospects from West Virginia in attendance.
The Opening Finals, presented by Nike Football, involves four days of training, coaching and competition among the country’s most elite high school football players.
Wright was recognized after the camp as one of the top five linemen, along with Kenyon Green (Atascocita, Texas), Wanya Morris (Grayson, Georgia), Harry Miller (Buford, Georgia) and Evan Neal (IMG Academy, Florida).
The 6-foot-6, 300-pound five-star standout Wright entered the summer rated as the national’s overall No. 2 recruit for the 2019 class, according to Rivals.
Wright is still undecided for his college commitment, but has a slew offers from around the country, including Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami (FL), Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and West Virginia, among others.
