MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The search continued on Sunday in Monongalia County for the driver allegedly involved in a deadly hit-and-run in Morgantown involving a bicyclist.

Morgantown Police said Divante Coles, 20, of Morgantown, died Saturday morning after being hit while on a bicycle Friday night around 11:15 p.m. on Route 7 in the Sabraton area.

Coles was struck from the back of the bike by a vehicle that continued west on Earl L. Core Road toward Downtown Morgantown, according to early reports from investigators.

After being taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment, Coles died Saturday morning.

As of Sunday afternoon, investigators were looking for a dark-colored, possibly black Chrysler or Dodge sedan with front-end damage.

The driver’s side headlight may not be functioning, officials said.
