$2 million Powerball ticket sold in Kanawha County

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A $2 million Powerball ticket was sold from a Charleston-area store earlier this week.

A customer of the Fas Chek on Campbells Creek Drive purchased the winning ticket.

The West Virginia Lottery said the ticket was one of three to match five numbers for Wednesday’s drawing, and the only one with the Power Play option.

The winning numbers were 19-21-27-46-47 and the Powerball was 7.

David Eicher, the Fas Chek owner, said the customer is a regular patron.

“It will help him tremendously because he told me he had a sister that was in the process of dying of cancer,” he said.

The winner is not affected by a new law which would allow any winner to claim anonymity in exchange for a 5 percent tax on top of the regular withholdings of 6.5 percent. The law does not go into effect until Jan. 1, 2019.
