ROBSON, W.Va. — A man from Ohio listed by U.S. Marshals as a most wanted fugitive was arrested in Fayette County Thursday morning.
Members of the Cops United Felony Fugitive Enforcement Division (CUFFED) Task Force found Gary Sanders, 36 of Cleveland, in the Robson area after U.S. Marshals received a tip that he was staying there for over a month. CUFFED is comprised of local, state and federal agencies.
Cleveland.com reports Sanders was wanted for allegedly murdering a transgender woman on February 24. Phylicia Mitchell was shot in the chest at her home in the Edgewater neighborhood of Cleveland.
Sanders will be charged as a fugitive from justice. He will face extradition to Ohio where he will answer to charges in Cleveland.
