Webster County teenager jailed after shooting death

WEBSTER SPRINGS, W.Va. — A Webster County teenager is in jail without bail after he allegedly shot and killed a man early Friday morning in a residence near Webster Springs.

State police have charged Trey Fultz, 18, with murder in the death of Austin Hart, 20.

According to a news release, Fultz and Austin were at a home on Grassy Creek Road Friday morning with a woman and her boyfriend. The woman told police she and her boyfriend were asleep in the living room when she heard gunshots coming from the back of the residence. She said she found Hart had suffered several gunshot wounds but Fultz wasn’t there.

Fultz, according to police, later returned to the scene and said he shot Hart.

A preliminary hearing on the murder charge will now be scheduled. Fultz is in the Central Regional Jail.
