Cabins dedicated at Chief Logan State Park

CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Those traveling into southern West Virginia now have another option for overnight accommodations. Dedication ceremonies were held Monday at Chief Logan State Park for three new cabins in the park.

“They have four separate bedrooms and each bedroom has it’s on bathroom and TV,” said Park Superintendent Bruce Collinsworth. “Then you have a common area in between them.”

The new cabins which have been more than a year in the marking are located on the same hill as the Chief Logan Lodge and can comfortably sleep eight people. According to Collinsworth the cabins are highly prized for those returning to the area for a family reunion.

“Family reunions are big in this part of the state,” he said. “We’ll have entire families come in and rent out those cabins.”

The cabins have been open for rental for a couple of weeks and according to Collinsworth they are fast becoming a popular attraction for overnight stays.
