HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Huntington High senior offensive lineman Darnell Wright on Thursday narrowed his recruitment to 10 schools.
The 6-foot-6, 300-pound Rivals five-star standout listed the following schools: Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, North Carolina, Ohio State, Penn State, USC and Tennessee.
“He’s such a humble young man and he just wants to play football,” Huntington coach Billy Seals told MetroNews. “He doesn’t even want to talk about the recruiting process a whole lot and he doesn’t talk to the media a whole lot about it. He will continue to improve and I’m nothing but pleased with the way he has handled the recruiting process. He’s stayed pretty focused.”
Wright is the No. 1-ranked offensive tackle and the nation’s overall No. 2 prospect in the nation for the Class of 2019 by Rivals.com.
Huntington, meanwhile, heads into the upcoming season off of a 12-1 year in 2017 that saw the Highlanders advance to the semifinal round of the Class AAA playoffs.
