California man sentenced to 40 years for shipping meth

ELKINS, W.Va. — A Los Angeles man was sentenced Tuesday to 40 years in prison for mailing methamphetamine.

Cesar Navarro, 40, was found guilty in March 2018 of conspiracy to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine, unlawful use of communication facility and distribution of methamphetamine.

According to U.S. Attorney Bill Powell, Navarro frequently mailed at least one pound of crystal methamphetamine to drug dealers in Grant and Hardy counties, as well as Frederick County, Virginia, in exchange for money.

Powell said Navarro was responsible for bringing more than 50 pounds of crystal methamphetamine into West Virginia.
