Driver killed in I-79 crash

CLENDENIN, W.Va. — A man was killed in a single vehicle crash on Interstate 79 in Kanawha County Wednesday morning, authorities said.

The wreck happened at just after 6:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes just north of the Clendenin exit.

According to authorities, the driver lost control of vehicle and it flipped several times. He was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

The name of the victim has not been released. The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department is investigation the cause of the crash.
