HAMLIN, W.Va. –Two people were killed in separate crashes in Lincoln County over the weekend.

According to authorities, at about 9:00 a.m. Saturday a crash on state Route 10 in Harts sent a young child to the hospital. The five-year-old girl later dies from the injuries she suffered.

According to troopers, the child was in a forward-facing restraint seat, but was injured when the car struck a ditch.

In an unrelated crash a couple hours later, police said Barry Moore of West Hamlin, died in a crash also on on Route 10. This one in the Branchland area.

A second vehicle pulled into Moore’s path causing the collision, troopers said.

Moore was ejected in the crash. He was pronounced dead at a Huntington hospital.
