Man charged in fatal Preston County UTV accident

KINGWOOD — A woman was killed in a UTV accident Saturday, Aug. 4, in Preston County, and the driver is charged with DUI resulting in death.

According to the West Virginia State Police, Brieanne Nicole Dietz was killed in an accident on Red Rock Road, in the Rowlesburg area, in the 4:05 p.m. accident. John David Dietz III is charged with DUI resulting in death.

Senior Trooper L.S. Hall and Cpl. D.W. Simmons said state police responding to the call found Breianne Dietz dead and charged John Dietz. The investigation continues.

A UTV is a utility vehicle, similar to an all-terrain vehicle but with more seats. It is sometimes called a side-by-side.
