Charges filed in Jefferson County fire

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. — Charges have been filed in Jefferson County against a man in connection with a July fire.

Drew Springirth, 39, was charged with third degree arson after investigators discovered evidence in the basement of the home in Charles Town from the July 28th blaze. The fire was reported by neighbors and was quickly contained to that area because of a rapid response by fire fighters.

Springirth was arrested August 10th and is lodged in the Eastern Regional Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.
