Wheeling police officer arrested for alleged assault

WHEELING, W.Va. — A Wheeling police officer has been arrested following an alleged assault on a woman last weekend.

Jacob Skinner allegedly punched a woman in the face after Brewfest on Saturday. He has been released on bond and placed on administrative leave with pay pending.

Skinner joined the police department in 2016. According to Wheeling Police Chief Shawn Schwertfeger, he has been on good standing.
