Suspect of car theft on Fairmont State campus apprehended

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — Fairmont State University Campus Police have apprehended the 33-year-old identified earlier this week as the suspect of a motor vehicle theft.

Jeremy Allen White was arrested on a warrant for two stolen vehicles on the campus of Fairmont State University. Campus Police report the stolen Plymouth Breeze has also been recovered.

The University would like to thank our media partners, campus and community members for their assistance in this investigation.

As a reminder, many auto thefts are crimes of “opportunity.” Leaving the keys in your car (even a “hidden” spare key) greatly increases your chances of having your car stolen.  Please do not leave your keys in your car.  Make sure you close your windows and lock your doors whenever you leave your car, regardless of how long you plan to be gone.  Also, do not leave valuables or any type of packages in your vehicle.
