Lincoln County jury finds man guilty in torture case

HAMLIN, W.Va. — A former sheriff’s deputy is now facing significant time behind bars after being convicted Friday evening by a Lincoln County jury on various charges.

Kevin Woodrum, 43, was found guilty on charges of kidnapping with mercy, malicious assault, domestic battery, and assault during commission of a felony.

The jury found Woodrum tortured his wife.

A mistrial was declared in Boone County and the second trial was moved to Lincoln County.

The jury found Woodrum not guilty on charges of second degree sexual assault and strangulation.
