Labor Day shooting suspect arrested

MONONGALIA COUNTY, W.Va. — The suspect in a Labor Day shooting Monday evening has been identified.

Kenneth Stevens, 56, a resident of the area near Landis Lane, was arrested and charged with malicious assault.

Police claim Stevens shot another unidentified victim in the back at a residence on Landis Lane, which branches off Booth Run Road and is just west of the River Road Volunteer Fire Department.

Stevens will be arraigned on the charge Tuesday.

West Virginia State Police and Westover Police assisted on the call.

The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
