Man injured in Beckley stabbing

BECKLEY, W.Va. — A man was charged with malicious wounding following an early Saturday morning stabbing in Beckley, police said.

Lamont Cheese

Troy Lamont Cheese, 53, of Beckley, was arrested near the scene of the stabbing on Ewart Avenue.

According to Beckley police, Cheese stabbed a 62-year-old man in the stomach at around 1:30 a.m. at Willbrian Apartments.

The victim was in stable condition at a local hospital.
