BLUEFIELD, W.Va. — Five Bluefield police officers are being treated after being exposed to a narcotic agent Tuesday at a traffic stop.

According to Bluefield Police Chief Dennis Dillow, the traffic stop happened around 3:30 p.m. on Bluefield Avenue.

One officer had to be administered Narcan, which is used following an overdose of opioids. Dillow said the officer should recover.

The officers were taken to Bluefield Regional Medical Center. An investigation is underway.
