One dead, one wounded in separate shootings

LOGAN, W.Va. — Two separate shootings are under investigation in Logan County from Friday night.

State Police say one man is in custody charged with first degree murder after the Friday night shooting in the community of Rossmore. The shooting happened around 6 p.m. The name of the victim and the man charged were not released by investigators.

The second shooting happened about an hour later on Cow Creek near the community of Omar. Logan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived a a home in the community around 7:30 p.m. Friday to find Dennis Jacob Idyle II, 22, with a gunshot wound to the chest. Idyle was taken to the Logan Regional Medical Center and then flown to a larger facility. He remained in critical condition Friday night.

The shooter in the second incident was at large Saturday morning. Logan County Deputies described the suspect as a thin, black male with tattoos. He was seen leaving the shooting scene in a blue Ford 150 pickup truck with an extended cab.

So father there’s no indication of any connection between the two incidents.
