Deadly fire in Logan County ruled accidental

SARAH ANN, W.Va. — A man was killed in a fire in Logan County Sunday, authorities said.

The 27-year-old victim was unable to get out of the residence along Foothills Trail Road in the community of Sarah Ann.

Investigators with the state Fire Marshal’s Office have ruled the blaze accidental. They said it appears the blaze began above the kitchen stove. The residence had smoke detectors but they weren’t working.

The fire was reported at about 8 a.m. Sunday.
