One dead, four injured in head-on collision in Morgantown area

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — One person is dead following a two-vehicle accident on Grafton Road early Saturday morning.

A 1970 Chevrolet pick-up truck traveling south on Grafton Road crossed the center line and struck a 2014 Ford Edge traveling north with four people in the vehicle shortly after midnight.

The driver of the pick-up truck has been identified as Timothy J. Snyder, 40, of Grafton. Snyder died at the scene.

Meanwhile, the four people in the Ford Edge all were transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries.

The car was driven by Allison Root, age unknown, of Fairmont. The passengers were Bryan Hart, 27, of Morgantown; Vaughn Trimble, 25, of Morgantown; and Matthew Abraham, 27, of Fairmont.

Grafton Road was shut down for approximately five hours as a result of the Saturday morning crash, according to a release from the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department.
