Teenager killed in Mercer County crash

LASHMEET, W.Va. — Charges are pending against one of the drivers in a vehicle collision that claimed the life of a teenager Tuesday evening in Mercer County.

According to state police, a vehicle being driven by Anthony Billings, 34, of Lashmeet, traveling south on state Route 10 in the Lashmeet area cut in front of an oncoming vehicle. A passenger in the oncoming vehicle, a 16-year-old girl, was killed.

Billings was attempting to make a left hand turn into a driveway, according to troopers. There were five people in his vehicle at the time of the crash. Seven people were initially hospitalized.
