GRAFTON, W.Va. — No foul play is suspected in the death of a man whose body was discovered in a wooded area of Taylor County Thursday.
Taylor County Sheriff Terry Austin said the body was found in Grafton’s Blueville area off U.S. 50. A firearm was found with the body. However, Austin said all evidence indicates it was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Austin said the male, whose identity is not being released at this time, was reportedly at a friend’s house prior to his disappearance. He then left his truck parked at the property.
The male was reported missing roughly a week ago. Austin said the male had been missing for two months but worked out of the area, leading family members to not file the report right away.
The victim’s body has been sent to the state Medical Examiner’s Office.
