Teammates’ pick-me-up highlighted Tevin Bush’s first career score

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Kansas State’s secondary didn’t see Tevin Bush coming, and Bush didn’t foresee his own teammates turning his touchdown into a crowd-surfing celebration.

The 5-foot-6 sophomore caught a 62-yard wheel route for his first career score. Upon reaching the end zone, the fun really started.

Bush was tackled by fellow receiver Marcus Simms and mobbed by other teammates. They dragged him to the sideline where running back Kennedy McKoy yelled, “Pick him up!” And up he went, tossed about like a kid at a concert.

“He was tired and looking for some water, but nobody would let him go,” said McKoy. “Just such a fun moment, because Bush works as hard as anybody on this team.”

Being the smallest guy on the roster made for quite a spectacle.

“We had to pick him up,” McKoy said. “(Trevon) Wesco does not get that — only Bush.”

West Virginia sophomore Tevin Bush (14) is congratulated by teammates Saturday after his first career touchdown.
