HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — An Ohio man who recently followed women on the Marshall University campus pleaded guilty Friday to two counts of stalking.
Michael Hankins, 40, of Chesapeake, Ohio, entered a plea agreement with Cabell County prosecutors. The felony charge of forgery of a vehicle was dropped as part of the agreement.
Hankins was sentenced to six months in jail and six months of probation. The deal also bans Hankins from being in West Virginia for one year after his probation is over.
Police have had problems with Hankins around the Marshall campus several times. The latest incidents happened in September.
