Marmet man arrested for attempted murder, malicious wounding

MARMET W.Va. — A Marmet man is being charged with attempted murder and malicious wounding after an incident overnight, according to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department.

Robert David Masker, 61, was arrested last night when Marmet PD responded to a residence after a potential suicide attempt by Masker.

Police arrived at the residence to see Masker with minor cuts on his neck from the possible suicide attempt, but found his wife bleeding with cuts on her own neck. Masker’s wife told police that he did that to her, according the police reports.

She was taken to a local hospital in serious condition as the investigation continues.

The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office is assisting the Marmet Police Department with the investigation.
