Victor man sentenced to decades for attempted robbery, attempted murder

WINFIELD, W.Va. — A Fayette County Man will spend up to 48 years in prison for attempted robbery and attempted murder.

Brian Willis, of Victor, pleaded guilty in September to attempting to rob Jeffrey Mellich at gunpoint at his Hopewell Road home on Oct. 29, 2017. Willis also opened fire on Rodney Rose’s vehicle on River Road in Anstead on Nov. 19, 2017.

Rose sustained permanent injuries to his face and body.

Judge Paul Blake Jr. sentenced Willis to 30 years for attempted robbery and between three and 15 years for attempted murder.
