Man injured after jumping from upper deck of WVU stadium

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A 49-year old male fan intentionally jumped off the upper deck of Milan Puskar Stadium during West Virginia’s game against Baylor on Thursday night, according to a university release.

The man was in Section 134 and climbed and jumped over the wall of the South Concourse after engaging in verbal altercations with fellow fans. He fell on to a concrete concourse, the report stated.

Contemporary Services Corporation Event Staff, University police, State Police and emergency crews responded immediately, and he was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment.

His name was not released and there was no word on how seriously he was injured.
