New name proposed for Bluefield, Virginia

BLUEFIELD, Va. — Residents of Bluefield, Virginia, will soon consider whether to change the town’s name to Graham.

The Town of Graham Committee announced Thursday it was seeking public feedback on the proposed new name.

A series of meetings will be held Nov. 8 at Graham Middle School on the matter. The meetings begin at 6 p.m.

According to a press release, all people with a Bluefield, Virginia, address, business operators and those with property in the town are encouraged to attend the meetings.

The press release stated no public further comment on the matter will be made on behalf of the committee or the town until Nov. 8.
