Highlights: Polar Bears score 66 in quarterfinal win over Pt. Pleasant

FAIRMONT, W.Va — Fairmont Senior scored touchdowns on all four of their first-half possessions en route to dominating Pt. Pleasant 66-13 in the Class AA quarterfinals.

Connor Neal completed 18-of-22 passes for 299 yards and a pair of touchdown passes. He is now 282 yards away from catching Logan Moore atop at Fairmont Senior all-time passing yardage list.

Breeden Gilbert rushed for 70 yards on just seven carries. He scored on runs of nine and 10 yards in the first quarter as the Polar Bears (12-0) took a 16-6 lead in the first quarter.

Fairmont Senior’s defense limited Cason Payne to just 27 yards rushing on 19 attempts. The Polar Bears outgained the Big Blacks 463-174.

Point Pleasant’s season ends at 9-2. Fairmont Senior will host Weir in the semifinal round. The Polar Bears (12-0) defeated the Red Riders (10-2) 43-13 during the regular season.
