POCAHONTAS COUNTY, W.Va. — Wednesday marked the start to the ski season at Snowshoe Mountain.

Hundreds of skiers hit the slopes and the more than 40 acres open for winter activities.

Canaan Valley Resort State Park will open its tubing park and ice skating areas Thursday, and the spots will remain open through Sunday.
